Has anyone gone to DOA Records and paid for the passage of a deceased loved one? Like, have any half-bloods paid the passage for one of their mortal relatives?

When Charon proves that he’s not so easily fooled and correctly deduces that Percy and Annabeth (and maybe Grover he never calls Grover a satyr though) are “godlings” (a name that I don’t think ever comes up again), Percy bribes him with money. He’s been doing this for millennia and there are an infinite number of strange, stupid, and cruel ways people can die he’s not shocked by much anymore. I don’t know if Charon ever actually bought the lie that all three of them drowned in a bathtub of all things, especially since he didn’t immediately peg them as half-bloods, meaning he thought them completely human until they brought out the gold drachma, or if Charon was just not paid enough to actually care. Because if anyone can see it, then what do mortals see? Do they just see an empty room with Charon standing there at the counter or do they feel off and just steer clear of the place, kind of like how mortals who can’t see through the Mist can never bring themselves to get close to Camp Half-Blood?Īnyway, while Percy can usually be pretty good at thinking on his feet, this is not one of those times.
